Hi!
This is Flappy the little penguin… He likes to fly (or at least pretend to by jumping up in the air really high), sit up high in the tree, and make snowmen. Sometimes he likes to play hide in seek and his favourite hiding spot is in the bushes (I’m not sure why since the twigs always poke right through him). In addition, Flappy sports a matching toque and scarf and his favourite shades are black and white.
Based on the penguin feet pattern in the book, Knitted Wild Animals by Sarah Keen. I decided to rework the pattern a little bit in a way that would help me to understand it :)
Feet are worked in garter st.
Cast on 9 sts.
Row 1: K
Row 2: K4 turn
Row 3: S1k, k to end
Row 4: Bind off 3 at the beg of next row, k to end (6 sts)
Row 5: K6, Cast on 3 sts (9 sts)
Row 6: K
Next: Repeat Rows 1 – 6 once
Next: Repeat Rows 1 – 4: Instead of binding off 3, bind off all sts
