From Wikipedia: “Yarn bombing, yarnbombing, yarnstorming, guerrilla knitting, urban knitting or graffiti knitting is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yarn_bombing)

This is CRAZY cool! I recently discovered this type of art on Pinterest. A picture is worth a thousand words; therefore, enjoy these inspirational photos from http://www.streetartutopia.com http://pinterest.com/source/knitthecity.com/ & Pinterest.

Crazy-but I love the trees! They look so happy and optimistic…

  2. We were in Hunstanton in Norfolk, UK and there was some kind of yarn bombing thing going on there to celebrate the jubilee. It was so funny because it’s a kind of retirement place, and so I think rather than groovy hipsters doing it, it was the granny brigade! I love that!
